RECEPTION

The first year going to primary school seems not to be easy for the youngest, but we have a lot of experience dealing with them during all these years. Here they will learn and play a lot, and what is more important, they will make new friends.

Activity:
As it is the first year in school, we have proposed going out to the playground and discover on their own all the corners that our playground has because we think that in this way they will disconnect from their parents, they will not miss them and they will be more comfortable in school. This activity will be carried out every day for two weeks so that they become familiar with the school, which is the place where they will spend the most time in the next seven years.

YEAR 1

This class is called "The Lions". They choose this name because they love animals and especially lions. This is their second year together, and they know each other as if they were living together. The relationship between them and the teachers is great.

Activity:
In this case, the Lions class will have to go out into the playground and scatter on the football field. Each child will be in a circle that they will have at their feet and only one of them will start the game with one more object, a softball. When the teacher puts on a song, the children will have to pass the ball between them as fast as possible and without leaving the circle, because when the song stops, whoever is left with the ball in their hands will have to talk about a funny thing that had happened to him or her during some seconds.

YEAR 2

They are called "The Trees". They choose this name because they are great fans of nature (we saw that in their first visit to our local forest). This is also a great class, that has a lot of teamwork. They love to help each other.

Activity:

All the students who are in the class of the trees, today at nine o'clock will go to do a visit to the orchard. This activity will consist of trying to remember the maximum number of products that we have in our orchard because when they return to class they will have to write on a white sheet all the products they remember. And that's not all, the boy or girl with the longest list of products will have the opportunity to go to the garden and take one product as a prize.

YEAR 3

The students of this year, are already seven years old, and they have entered the key stage two. It's a great step for them. This class is called "The scientists". They put this name because absolutely all the class loves science.

Activity:
The activity in this course will consist of grouping the whole class in groups of 4 and playing in a typical board game, the four in a row. As there are sixteen students in the class there will be a total of 4 tables with 4 games. 

Each table will have a winner and the four winners of each table will have a prize at the end of the course. The aim of this activity is to develop the strategy and the ability to get ahead in situations through a board game.

YEAR 4

This class has a curiosity, most of the students are boys, and there are few girls. All of them love football which makes the class be called "The Footballers". Their love for football and sports is from another dimension. During the playground we all know what they do.

Activity:

The class of the Footballers will all be distributed by groups of 3, each group will have a random image and will have thirty seconds to try to remember what is in the image. After half a minute they must be able to answer a series of questions that the teacher will ask them about the image they had previously viewed. The aim of this activity is to develop and improve the memory of each of our students.

YEAR 5

This year is one of the most special ones. The students of this grade go to a colony house to pass some days and to do some activities of cohesion. They are called "The Firefighters" because they love to help others.

Activity:
Year 5 is lucky because they will be able to choose two different kinds of activities that will take place at the time of tutoring. One of the activities will be going out on the playground and playing a football game where the teams will be mixed. The other activity will be to play a basketball game with mixed teams. There will only be one requirement, which will be that each student will have to play in both sports during this session. 

YEAR 6

This year is the last one and also as special as the fifth year. A lot of emotions come, when they remember all the years that they have been studying and learning at this school. This class has passed a lot of good and bad moments, but they passed them all together and know they are here, at the end of the trip. But as you know, when something ends, another thing starts... This one are called " The old ones". 

Activity:
The oldest ones from the school will go to Welsporth Nature Park next Monday. They must bring suitable shoes or trainers shoes for walking, breakfast, and lunch in a taper, a bottle of water and a desire to have fun. We will leave school at 9:15 AM and come back there at 4:00 PM. Parents should be reminded that they will have to be out of the center by 4am, as school transport will not be available next Monday. If any student cannot come for any reason, this Friday they must send a message to us.
